Welcome to the Fresh Ideas - Shaping Rotorua project

Fresh Ideas is the name of the Rotorua District Plan Review Project. Every Council has a district plan, which must be reviewed every ten years. The existing district plan was one of the first to be prepared under the Resource Management Act. It is now time to replace it with a new one.

The Fresh Ideas project has been going since November 2007, and there has been some significant consultation completed since then. We have sent out feedback forms throughout the district and to all our ratepayers who live elsewhere in the country.

The District Plan document is starting to take shape and over the next few months chapters will be released for public comment. We have made it easy for you to tell us what you think about the District Plan by introducing a feedback form under the ‘What do you think?' tab. Just click on the relevant section you wish to comment on and type away. Your comments will help us ready the District Plan for notification later this year.

Another new feature to the Fresh Ideas website is the RSS feed. You can subscribe to the RSS feed and receive up to the minute news and information on specific parts of the Fresh Ideas project. Just follow the simple instructions and set up an RSS feed tailored to your needs.
